Preparing for your massage treatment

"The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today"

-H. Jackson Brown Jr

**Arrange your appointment wisely** This may sound obvious however arranging your appointment on a day where you have time to recoup and feel the benefit of your session will be beneficial to your resting process. It is not recommended that you carry out any high intensity exercise after a treatment as you may be more prone to injury after all your muscles are working during a treatment. Minimising anything that may stress the body or mind is a great plan, so clearing your diary following your session can help to support the natural healing process.

**Read the information & T&C’s** Once you have booked your appointment, a confirmation will be sent via email. Please read through the information as details such as address, how to find me, parking, payment and T&C’s are all within the booking invitation under ‘description’.

**Special Requirements** If you have any special or specific requirements it is advisable to discuss these prior to treatment this may include the focus of the massage, for example medical conditions, your presenting condition, headache, injury, allergies, mobility or questions regarding access to the treatment room. If we schedule a brief phone call ahead of your treatment, I can be well prepared on the day.

**Give Yourself Plenty of Time** Plan ahead by checking your travel route, parking, and timing the day before your appointment. This helps avoid any unnecessary stress and ensures you arrive feeling calm and unhurried. There is no waiting area so please arrive at your scheduled appointment time.

**Emergency Contact**For peace of mind iI will ask for an emergency contact number. If you have one please have this ready on the day.

**Hydrate** Drink fluids before your session to ensure you are adequately hydrated , supporting your body’s natural healing processes.

**Avoid Heavy Meals** Avoid a large or heavy meal before your appointment. Arriving in a balanced state—not too full, not too hungry—will help your body relax more deeply during the session.

**Minimise Stimulants**Try to avoid stimulants on the day of your appointment as stimulants can counteract the effects of a calming treatment.

Examples of stimulants

·       Coffee

·       Tea (including green tea and matcha)

·       Energy drinks

·       Dark chocolate

·       Alcohol

·       Excess Sugar

**Avoid Alcohol** Avoiding alcohol the 24 hours prior to your appointment may reduce the possibility of a treatment reaction.

**Shower or Wash** Please wash your body and feet before your appointment, removing any residue, sun cream, odours, sand, or grit, which helps to create a comfortable experience for both of us.

**What to Wear** This can Depend on what we are treating, I recommend wearing loose clothing Aa this gives you more options. Generally, for a whole body massage or anything that includes lower back it is recommended to remain in your underwear. It is also recommended to remove jewellery and keep  valuable items at home as these are easily forgotten, and left in the treatment room.

** Rebooking Made Easy** If you'd like to book your next session, it's helpful to check your calendar before your appointment. This helps appointments to run smoothly, as scrolling through dates can take up significant appointment time.

I am looking forward to you joining me in the treatment room for a treatment unique to you.

Best wishes
