Touch is our first and most primal sense which is developed in the womb and is the largest sensory system in the body. There are tactile receptors all over our outer skin waiting to receive various touch sensations and send them to our central nervous system and then our brain for processing, when new-borns are laid against their bare mothers, this skin-to-skin contact is so powerful, it can save a fragile life.
Massage and reflexology have been used by our ancestors for thousands of years to aid the body in healing itself, enhancing health and well-being.
A therapist applies touch with intent and intuition working with each client as an individual, feeling for areas of tension whilst encouraging energetic flow within the body. Not only does this sensation feel caring, calming and soothing our brain is being triggered to release hormones such as oxytocin the ‘love drug’ and ‘happy hormones’ serotonin and dopamine as well as lowering cortisol, the ‘stress’ hormone.

Massage and reflexology were thought of as a luxury way to pamper, now these modalities are being seen as valuable part of health care and are a therapeutic tool which can be utilised in decreasing pain, tightness, tension as well as relieving symptoms of anxiety, stress and promoting sleep naturally. On an emotional level the positive messages we receive from touch enhance our mood and lift the spirit.

"Claire is a very committed practitioner who works to understand and remedy any back issues I have. She often works intuitively and can bespoke any treatment, whether that’s massage or reflexology – which is hugely refreshing as I’ve tried many places who just ‘go through the motions’ and I leave feeling not much better than when I arrived!
With Claire I always leave feeling so much better, especially as she takes the time to listen and advise where she can. It’s my little haven of escape and I highly recommend you book a treatment 😊"

"I had never had reflexology before but was curious and Claire had been recommended to me. Well, she is absolutely brilliant and clearly loves what she does. It’s the most relaxed I’ve ever felt…..EVER!
Claire explained everything, before and after the treatment and put me at ease.
I will definitely be returning!"

Massage Therapy
A relaxation massage is a smooth, gentle treatment that relieves muscular tension and promote a general sense of relaxation. This massage is performed using Swedish techniques consisting of long, rhythmic strokes and small circular movements which help to break down adhesions release tension. A relaxation massage does not address the connective tissue of the muscles. It is not intended to treat sports injuries or other discomforts and is instead used to reduce muscle tension, increase oxygen flow bringing fresh nutrients and blood flow to the area whilst bringing the body back to balance. Many people seek regular relaxation massage treatments, to help improve their mental health and well being.
